The Manueline style, also known as the Portuguese late Gothic, is a decorative and
sculptural style of the XVII Century associated with the reign of the Portuguese King
D. Manuel I. Bessa was inspired by the Manueline style furniture to create a piece
with a stylized foot that reminds the ornamented furniture of the time. This piece
stands out for its simplicity while keeping the soul of the Manueline style. The
refinement of this piece is in the crafted gold leaf both in the metallic foot and in the
acrylic lamp. The manually crafted tassel is a singular detail that fits perfectly with
the piece and carries the richness and elegance of the Manueline period.
